Just the videos you came forYouTube Clean features
- Granular hides
- Shorts shelves, mixes, playlists, sponsored cards, masthead buttons, sidebar entries. Each one its own toggle, persisted locally.
- Speed slider
- A real range slider for playback speed, including a dedicated one for Shorts. No more clicking through 0.25 increments.
- Declarative config
- One config entry compiles into CSS, runtime behavior, and the side-panel UI. Adding a new feature is a 10-line diff.
Questions, Answered
How do I hide Shorts on YouTube?
Install YouTube Clean, open its side panel and turn on the Shorts toggles. Shorts shelves disappear from the home feed and search results, and you can also hide the Shorts entry in the sidebar.
What else can YouTube Clean hide?
Mixes, playlists, sponsored cards, promotional banners, masthead buttons, search filter chips and individual sidebar entries. Each one has its own toggle, and a master switch turns everything off at once.
Can I change YouTube playback speed with a slider?
Yes. YouTube Clean replaces the speed menu with a real range slider in the player controls, and adds a separate one for Shorts, so you are not stuck with 0.25x steps.
Does YouTube Clean collect data?
No. Every setting is stored locally in your browser. The extension has no analytics and no account, and its code is open source on GitHub.
Which browsers does YouTube Clean support?
YouTube Clean is a free Manifest V3 extension for Chrome and Opera.
