How do I download a single folder from GitHub?
Install GitHub DL, open any repository on github.com and click the download icon next to the folder you need. The extension fetches the files and saves them as a ZIP, without cloning the whole repository.
Does GitHub DL work with private repositories?
Yes. Add a GitHub personal access token with the repo scope in the extension popup. The token is stored locally in your browser and is only sent to the GitHub API.
Does GitHub DL send my files through a server?
No. Files are downloaded straight from the GitHub API and zipped in your browser. There is no third-party server, no account and no telemetry.
Can GitHub DL download a single file?
Yes. Clicking the icon on a file row downloads that file directly, without wrapping it in a ZIP.
